If you have ever read ANY economic criticism of the theory, you would see that actually it does not work. It was implemented in the 30's by FDR and the country actually slumped into a deep recession in the midst of the depression. So, actually no you must not spend to boost the economy. I suggest that you read some economic criticism. Moreover, if you studied your supply and demand graphs, you would see that when people's income decreases due to higher tax levels, their demand for goods decreases because of a decrease in disposable income, which halts overall economic growth. Furthermore, I do not think anyone is protesting the current budget or tax levels. The fear is the new proposed nearly 4 trillion dollar budget for next year.
