If someone makes 5 times as much as me, I'm not jealous...my assumption is that they studied or worked harder, or God gave them their gifts so they could make jobs for others. No impoverished person ever offered me a job. The more wealthy people there are, the better off the rest are. The way the government comes to people's homes with guns to steal the fruits of their labors reminds me of the mafia, not Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty. (In response to Branden Young) We The People are not complaining just about taxes...we all understand the each of us pay taxes for our country to function, we protest because the taxes we pay are never enough, spent unwisely and wastefully by the government, and sent over seas before they are spent on we who pay them. For our government to borrow and spend and continue this practice, while accrueing debt that will be passed down to the next few generations is absolutely fraud. We cannot expect to cast such a large debt until children who are yet to be born, we cannot expect any generation to prosper ever again if we continue to allow our government to borrow our budget and create more spending practices that harm our economy, our future and the future of our children and grandchildren. Do people honestly not understand that the money being thrown around and promised to the states is borrowed and is to be repaid by WE THE PEOPLE...our taxes and future taxes will be used to pay this debt while accrueing more debt just to borrow for each fiscal years budget? This is not "free" money that has flown off the printing press, this is borrowed money to run our government because our government couldn't manage the money they got from our previous taxes..taxes are to be budgeted to run the government from one fiscal year through the next and for benefits paid into social security, etc. No "Uncle Sam" died and left us an inheritance...this is money we don't have, money that has to be repaid, our future taxes, which are not enough to make a dent, our children's taxes, and the taxes of all those who come after us. This protest is about taking back our government and making them be fiscally responsible with how they spend what they take from us. You cannot spend what you do not have. I would never pass an irresponsible debt of mine onto my children, so why should any of us stand by and allow the government to do so?? Our children deserve to grow up, work hard, make a good life for themselves and not be burdened by debt that accrued long before they were born or old enough to even work. We are paying a debt that did not benefit us at all...it benefits the companies that got bailed out, the banks and mortgage companies that made bad decisions, the government who decides who gets it and how it is spent...we pay for what they choose to spend it on. The protests are for more than just being taxed, it is deeper than that and our pockets are not deep enough to pay for what has been spent, will be spent, or what has or will be borrowed in the near future. This is not Republican, Democrat, or anything in-between, this is American, this is a "We The People" expect our government to be responsible with the taxes we pay and to balance their budget...we do so in our own lives and households, we expect nothing less.

I am originally from New Hampshire though have now lived in Georgia for almost thirty years but, what I saw tonight throughout the evening is inspiring and I truly hope that it will become continueous and bigger and bigger as time goes by in order to give the message that the first "Tea Party" in Boston was not just "taxation without representation" as some would like for you to believe; it was for a principle that was later penned in the Declaration of Independence. Perhaps some will recognize these famous words of a founding father and great American; "for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness..." and if many of these politicians could once again read their oath and be held to task the first three words of that historical document states very clearly WHO they Work for! "WE THE PEOPLE..." Is this not what has set America apart from all other countries in the world throughout all of history? "...a government OF the People, BY the People, AND FOR the People..." a quote from another great American that points to the very heart of what it means to live and be AN AMERICAN? When there is a world crisis, who is there almost immediately to help? America! If there is hunger in Ethopia, who's there with food, blankets, medical supplies, etc, America! The tsunami hit who was there with food, clothing, blankets, water, medical supplies, makeshift shelters, and so on! America!
