Sign Suggestions

Bring signs with you to the Atlanta Tea Party! Bring several signs so that if your neighbor does not have one, you can share. We want to make sure Washington gets the message that we are fed up with excessive spending, government waste, and high taxes. One way to convey this message is with signs.

You can click here for downloadable signs that you can print and bring with you. These are large signs that you may need to have printed at Kinko's/FedEx, Office Depot, Staples, Office Max, etc.

  6. that was a rhetorical "Who is John Galt?"

  7. Per your "Notes" re Signage: Recommend you delete the following from your "Sign Ideas"..."One Bad Ass Mistake America", "Obama has a crisis of Competence", and "Sleep? I'll sleep when Conservatives run Congress". These are partisan. Mainstream media is looking for any oppty to discount the relevancy of these events.

  10. Agreed, the message will not be heard if people are waving signs with spiteful partisan slogans on them. You can be critical of the current administration's actions without just pissing people off.

    i.e.

productive: "No Public Money for Private Failure"

not productive: "Obama has a Crisis of Competence"

Productive messages make people think and question. Non productive comments simply turn people off, causing them to not be receptive, thus accomplishing nothing but further partisan divide.

  52. I noticed that on the long list of suggested sign slogans, "END THE FED", is conspicuously missing. Among the list of famous quotes too, was missing "Give me Liberty, or give me Death". I'd say the neo-Con, NWO, has already hi-jacked the Tea Parties, reducing them to photo ops for politicians and NWO Pied Pipers like Hannity and Beck. What a shame; I'm staying home.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Fellow Tea Party Attendees:

Please do NOT take MARTA to the Tea Party. There will be many liberal commie socialists riding to and from the Braves game that night and you might get infected with common decency. Besides, mass transit is a radical Stalinist Black Hellicopter Comintern plot to take away our rights to traffic gridlock and air pollution! Let's all vow to drive our huge gas-guzzling SUVs instead -- Sean Hannity (that Great American) will thank us for it as he has no small amount of stock in Exxon/Mobil!

    -- A Real Patriot

    ReplyDelete
  54. "Notes: Signs at the Atlanta Tea Party may not be on stakes or poles of any kind." Then what exactly can we put the signs on? Please advise.

    ReplyDelete
  55. the reason there are partisan slogans is because this is a partisan movement trying to disguise itself as bipartisan. So lets go all the way, righties!!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. The few lefties on here are hillarious. Can you believe it, indignation at righties protesting for their values. They can't stand it because we believe in character, freedom, and self-sufficiency. They have no problem with 1 million high-school dropouts attending a democrat rally to support appeasement foreign policy, opening the borders to illegal aliens, and enslaving a fourth generation to government entitlement programs - the ultimate in bigotry and cruelty. Hey lefties, go get a real job, pay some taxes, and then join us when you get a clue.

    ReplyDelete
  64. We as a people can't address ALL issues at one time. We need to focus on the fact "the government works for us"! "We put them in and we can take the out!" "Give me liberty or give me death"!

Government instead wants to decide all issues and then tell us how it will be. It's in violation of our Constitution!

We must be in unity about the main message of the protest, otherwise it's just a lot of mixed complaints. PLEASE take the partisan signs OUT, OR better yet, hold a private right-wing protest "SEPARATE" from this one!
Otherwise, your cause is NOT my cause.

    ReplyDelete
  65. To those of you who say we should stay home - it's people like you who are too afraid to challenge what you know is wrong who helped us into this situation! People are too afraid of making waves or hurting feelings to stand up for what is right. This country was founded by people like the tea party attendees (most of them) - people unafraid to speak up and challenge the those no longer working in the interests of the people.

    Sign Ideas:
**Nobama, No Cry (too partisan, but still fun)
**"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." Thomas Jefferson
**"Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction" George Washington

  73. Actually, John Galt invented a motor that was revolutionary and when told that he would have to work and pay for others he disappeared. He a (2) other people started a community where they slowly convinced all those who were smart, hardworking and holding up the non-thinkers and non-doers to leave the "world". The society became more socialistic until it collapsed and they begged the people who had left to come back. Great book. Very worth reading.

  79. WHAT? Taxes = civilization? WRONG! Laws = civilization? Our nation flourishes best under minimal laws that simply protect rights. Since Federalists trampled the Constitution by gouging the "general welfare" clause, amassing power, usurping the States, and all but removing accountability to constituents, we've been gradually losing ground. Taxes beyond those necessary for defense, courts, infrastructure, and basic administration = impediments to success, waste, and involuntary dependence, not civilization. Please get your nose out of the text books and look around. Reality is a much better teacher.

Bigger Government is not the answer, discipline and dedication, honesty and integrety ... taking responsibility for our part in the problem is a good place to start. If you have to blame someone, blame yourself, look at who you are and what you've become, and what you believe ... be honest with yourself and start there!

Why should we follow any leader who is not fully vested in our country? Why should we allow them to govern us and dictate security while legislating away our freedom? As part of the tax changes we should demand that those who legislate tax laws can only do so if they participate fully in their consequence.

We DO NOT believe people that actually HAVE worked in their younger years is wasteful government spending(which is what the protests are about). Personally I believe the more that is given out to the people who either won't hold down a job or refuse to better themselves in any way and think welfare is a way of life instead of temporary assistance(the way it was meant to be) you are taking from our senior citizens. I have seen my hard-working grandparents denied the proper care from medicare but have never seen medicaid deny even unnecessary care.

To Jon Stewart: Beautiful, ingtelligent language-sarcasim intended. BTW-Your side protested YOU, if you are really a war veteran. I supported and prayed for you. Oh yeah...by the way since when does being a POW qualify you to be the president?

  155. No one said being a POW qualifies you to be president. However being a senator for less than 24 months does not qualify you to be president either. I can atleast admire the character of John McCain. Obama not so much. When the income tax started in 1913 the HIGHEST tax bracket was 7% now the middle class pays 25-28% of their income in taxes. Gosh, maybe those were the "good ole' days".

If Ayn Rand's house had caught aflame, who would have put out the fire?

I'm curious how you're accessing the Internet at this very moment: Did YOU design & build the computer you're using? Did you build it from raw materials YOU gathered and then fabricate the parts? Are YOU paying to be the only user of the electricity generated and distributed to your home? Did YOU pay for the dam all by yourself?
OR, did you actually HAVE TO RELY on someone else?

You guys loathe any mention of taxation, and yet you claim to be patriots: It takes more than blood and rhetoric to keep America(and Iraq)working.

Your hatred serves no purpose. More than likely you are willingly being brain-washed by those with the money and power to organize and pay for such an event as this: Who PAID for it? Permits? Fees? Rentals? Security?
What do you think their motive is?
Is it to look out for your well being?
Is it to help this country?

How many of these same individuals are at cause for the fiscal irresponsibility and corruption that created this crisis?

I was at the tea party in Atlanta and am convinced, now more than ever, that the media is a prostitute to the "government" or elite is a better word. I suppose we can fight this out all we want but in the end, the truth will be known and those of us "conspiracy theorists" will have our vindication. Just like those of us who believe in the Bible.
