Atlanta Tea Party Follow Up Action Items

Thank you so much for attending the Atlanta Tax Day Tea Party and helping making it such an amazing success! As I said last night, the event exceeded my wildest dreams!

At present time, our calculations are a crowd of about 15,000 - 20,000 people. The last Capitol Policeman I spoke with said that it was difficult for them to get an accurate estimate as the crowd grew so large. I was told that Sean Hannity reported 20,000+ so his staff may have had a more accurate estimate that I did.

At present time, the nationwide effort shows over 800 Tea Parties with a total crowd of over 750,000 nationwide. The numbers are still being crunched and that number will be re-tabulated.

We have two immediate actions:

1. We your feedback on the demonstration
2. We need your photos and video

Feedback
I have created a form on google to request your input on the demonstration. Please take the 5 minutes required to fill it out so that we can learn from the event. Click here to give your feedback.

Photos and Video
If you have photos or video that you have uploaded to the net, please email atlantateapartyphotos@gmail.com the url. If you do not know how to do upload online, please email: atlantateapartyphotos@gmail.com copies of your photos.

It would have been a great addition to have Herman Cain as one of the speakers!

The tea party was fine. HOWEVER, this program needs more decisive direction.Where is this going? We have the elections coming up quickly. We need to Identify potential runners for congress that will push FairTax from every State. We have got to get them in Congress to bring change.

The term FairTax sounds like just another Tax program. No one is interested in that. I like "NO Income TAX". That means something to everybody.
Then qualify the statement....you pay a higher tax only on what you spend, except food.

People will tire of these demonstrations
in time. I know you are pumped up with your success for now, but you must find some direction.

I didn't get to go, but I watched it! Hurray to all who attended! I am sure many of you have heard how CNN and others covered the tea party events in their typically clueless, biased fashion. Well, they all have advertisers that pay their bills and advertising budgets are particularly tight these days. It might be worth some time to identify the companies that advertise with some of these mainstream media outlets and inform them of our displeasure and our intent not to view these stations or purchase their products. Money talks, bs walks!

Great event but lousy location. I felt for the people who came after the program started and could not see or hear. Ditto on having people like Herman Cain as speakers and definitely fewer Republican politicians on stage. Makes the event look far too partisan.
Overall a fantastic job and I feel sorry for those that could not attend to see freedom and democracy in action.

The Tea Party was a fabulous event and I hope we do not stop there. It was so invigorating to see so many Americans that feel the same as I do about what our Government is doing with our money.

Does this group plan to protest any other issues besides taxes?

It's not enough to have held the demonstrations, people who care about this country need to start paying closer attention to who is running this country. All Americans who believe in Capitalism and the American ideals that made it great, need to research their candidates and their candidates records. We all need to continue to work on getting that information out to the public and to the voters. I also thinks it time to find a way to stop the American media that wants to destory this country from spewing lies and mistruths about anyone who does not believe in their SOCIALIST Agenda.

Great job Atlanta! We need to continue the effort to encourage further peaceful demonstrations.

The Tea Party was FANTASTIC - the most exciting political that I have ever attended in my 45 years! Made lots of friends and met many like minded people! Lots of patriotism and good common sense. I hope that we can resist the idea that we need to "do something with this" and answer questions like "where is this going". It was perfect just as it was - a mix of professional pols and passionate citizens. Definetly should not get married to a party or try to start a new one...at least not right now. Looking forward to seeing what we come up with for July 4. A more roomy venue would be in order, but that is a good thing :)

Keep the faith!

Atlanta, please get off your arses and attend this Tea Party and get the word to our Congress that we will not take it anymore in the shorts! As you may or may not know, our Congressmen and Senators are doing alot of things behind our backs or "under the radar" and then when they arise, then you hear about it. How can anyone so stupid at our local newspaper be so ignorant about what the citizens of Atlanta and even this country want! Why does CNN downplay this major event? Do they get kickbacks from the government? We'll neve know, will we? It really looks like our American people are fed up and our Congressmen and Senators better start listening to the people...for the people and by the people, not our Congress. This country which is now ran by the Democratic party is running this country right down the toilet, and they plan to do this and they think nothing is wrong with this and this is the mentality of people like Nancy Pelosi. Now, I never liked Bill Clinton, but I will take him now and never say a word. Its too late people. You better think again who you will be voting for next election. IT WON'T BE PRESIDENT OBAMA......

I agree with -- It might be worth some time to identify the companies that advertise with some of these mainstream media outlets and inform them of our displeasure and our intent not to view these stations or purchase their products. Money talks, bs walks! -- I for one intend to pay attention to to the advertisers of CNN and NBC, etc., and boycott their products. As a family, we already do it at the box office by not attending any movies featuring actors such as Sean Penn, Danny Glover, etc. I think it's time we make ourselves heard our wallets!!

Attended and enjoyed the signs. Need to come up with a better venue for the next event. People were packed in so tightly they couldn't raise their arms to applaud the speakers. Having read the Federalist Papers, the Constitution, and many US history books I find the ignorance of liberals to be astonishing. Every time my university asks for an Alumni donation, I find a conservative university and send a donation. I have two school teachers next door, and one across the street. They are clueless about histroy, economics, and civics. We need to take education back.

This was a historic event. What Tea Party was larger than ATL's? Haven't heard of one yet! Though we were packed in like sardines, it was for a grand and worthy cause, and I didn't mind being surrounded by thousands who also care passionately about the U.S.A.

Two Chicago songs come to mind about our movement, my fellow patriots:

1. "Feeling Stronger Every Day"

2. "Beginnings"

April 15 was indeed only the beginning. Let our strength continue to grow, and the volume of our voices continue to increase.

Boy, I was a little disappointed. I was hoping for a more Libertarian bent to the proceedings, since the Republicans were the ones who ran us from a surplus to a deficit over the past eight years. I didn't come downtown to be a GOP cheerleader. Hearing speeches from many of the lawmakers who got us in this mess (that's YOU Newt) disappointed me. I hope everyone on the site gives up on the Dems and Repubs and supports those who truly believe in less government.

Let's get some new signs and show CNN how we feel about their take on us "teabaggers"....advertisers need to punish CNN.

My husband and I attended and had a great time with the like minded people around us. It was very crowed and we had a hard time seeing the stage,tv screen, and Hannity. Maybe a better location next time. We can't wait till July 4th.

Does anyone know of any aerial photos of the Atlanta tea party?

I was at the Atlanta Tea Party! I'm happy to see we are going to hold another Tea Party on July 4. I am glad to see there will be a Tea Party in Washington, DC in September....I WILL BE THERE! I hope we get very orgainized and have over 1 million protester show up at the White House and Congress.

Since April 15 is Tax Date, I decided to really look at how much taxes I really pay. I was SHOCKED!!!! I encourage everyone to look at what they pay....it will make you MAD!!!!!

I'm an engineer and my wife is a school teacher, together we made $125,000 in 2008 under the Bush Tax laws (What will it be under Obama???). That's a good income, but we are by not means rich. After completing my taxes I added up what the federal government took for Federal, Social Security and Medicare taxes for the year. I then added my Georgia State Taxes (6%), Real Estate Taxes and Car Tag Tax. Guess what it added up to????

Slightly over $50,000 for the year!!!!!!!!

That's 40% of our gross income!!!! That is insane!

If your middle class and in the 25% tax bracket, every additonal dollar you earn is taxed as follow:

Federal 25%
Social Security + Medicare 15.3%
Georgia State Income Tax 6%
Sales Tax when you spend what's left 7%

TOTAL TAX 53.3%!!!!!!!!!

And you think when you get your "pay raise" you are going to get ahead?????? Are you kidding yourself!

That's not to count all the other taxes we pay!

BOSTON TEA PARTY II
LONG OVER DUE!!!!!!!!!

I agree totally about the bad location of the Tea Party. The entire street in front of the capitol was taken up by stages and media equipment. My entire family attended but if it is held here again we won't be there. What about Piedmont Park or somewhere with an open area?
