Hey Tea Party Friends!
We have a very exciting announcement this afternoon! Former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, has just joined in the Tea Party Movement that is sweeping the country! We are so excited to have him and American Solutions as a sponsor! We know that this will bring a lot of attention to this grassroots movement.

The Tea Party Movement is grower bigger and better everyday...glad you are along for the ride! It is time to get this party started!

Everyone welcome the Speaker to the party!

  1. Why? Seriously, this taints the movement, if anything.

  2. What are you kidding? What do you mean taint the movement? Explain

  3. While I welcome him, I also am concerned that it paints the movement as a GOP effort rather than the grass roots effort it is.

Please do not allow politicians to speak at this event. I would prefer just us angry citizens raising it.

I understand your vision-- but I think we NEED politicians willing to speak out on this issue....We need them to come from any and all parties....this should be an issue that all Americans should be able to unite in...

We the people have put this together- literally. Not the RNC, DNC, not Heritage Club, or Movin On....

LITERALLY-- grassroots folks have come together and literally organized them by working together from their own homes, using modern technology.....such as email, blogs, conference calls, etc....

It is OUR event.... but I certainly understand you vision and point...

thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts...

  6. Read the book, "Buck Wild: How Republicans Broke the Bank and became the Party of Big Government."

Gingrich was the start of the Republican downfall. He was the reason they started compromising on principles. He backed the Medicare drug expansion in 2003 and he backed the bailouts.

Bring on a politician, especially one as polarizing as Newt Gingrich, will hurt the message. It'll no longer be seen as ordinary people, but a staged Republican event.

I don't want Newt to hijack this event on behalf of his political presidential campaign platform. Newt said that he wanted Obama to succeed and it was ridiculous for anyone not to want him to succeed. IF we shared this philosophy, there wouldn't be a tea party and we would all agree w/ Obama's policies. We don't need any more bipartisanship. We need a conservative righteous movement and the Tea Party is ours, not a Republican spotlight extravaganza moment. Newt, stay home!

  8. I have to agree with Jeremy, Newt should stay away. Government officials got us in this mess and they should not be able to use this citizen event as a platform for possible election.

  9. Don't be quick to discard Newt. I believe anyone can have a change of heart and gain new perspective. Some of us are Conservatives first. He could be a useable asset as long as we do not allow him to hijack the cause for his own political expediancy. Keep him leashed. He does have a larger platform from which our voices can project. Use him, but use him wisely.

  10. The way I see it is that Newt is a major politician. He seems to be a Global Elite and keeps popping up at the oddest times (or maybe I don't watch the news enough). Generally I would agree with Jason M., however, with all the secretiveness of our government, I don't think it is possible to keep him leashed. I foresee Newt screwing this whole thing up. This is an action against our present politics, which Newt is a part of, so why do we want political sponsorship? It sounds to me like a mixed message. If we honestly believe that we can change the government on our own, then we need to do it by ourselves and don't let the government help.

Just the thoughts of a native.

  11. If Newt really is a supporter of the cause then a silent appearance would be a an unspoken word of support , I agree ,I like Newt but he would gain a so much support from the people if he made his appearance and did not take the stage.

  13. I think Scott B's comment for Newt to attend the Atlanta Tea Party is an excellent alternative to his appearing on the stage. We all know how the liberal media will find any way they can to discredit a grassroots event!

  15. I had planned to attend the tea party, but have decided if the politicians hijack it, then I will stay home. Is this not what we are protesting, politicians that have screwed this country up by not representing the constitution and the best interest of the country but their own political ambitions. Stay home Newt, we need couragous people who can help instead of politicians who became part of the problem,

  16. Politicians! They can always spot an opportunity. Hannity! A mouthpiece! This whole movement is becoming a joke on us!

  17. Americans should be sending tea bags to the FEDERAL RESERVE, and not Congress ------- The Federal Reserve's printing press has and will continue to be far more destructive than the combined Bush/Obama rescue packages ------- MOREOVER, we have NO elected representatives at the Federal Reserve Bank ------- The combination of wrongly addressed tea bags, and the appearances of Newt Gingrich and Sean Hannity cause this entire movement to STINK of PARTISAN POLITICS! --- Count me OUT!
